The 121 mile Truckee River is the only outlet of Lake Tahoe. It exits at Tahoe City and runs North to Truckee, then banks North and East passing through Reno/Sparks and finally North through the Paiute Reservation draining into Pyramid Lake. The river is generally viewed as having five sections, three in California and two on the Nevada side.
